Amazon Web Services (AWS) are seeking Logistics Specialists as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate to report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings in 2025. Trainees will participate in our 12‑month work and training program at our Northern Virginia facilities.

All Physical Requirements Are Expected With Reasonable Accommodations

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
  • Work in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Tolerance for working in non‑climate‑controlled environment with temperature extremes

Key job responsibilities

  • Vendor and team communication including data entry, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving inquiries from cross‑functional teams
  • Ensure billing associated with the inventory supply chain is accurate, validated and ready for processing
  • Assemble, address, stamp and arrange shipment of merchandise and materials
  • Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from production locations
  • Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
  • Travel with personal vehicle within the regional work area
  • Successfully complete the 12‑month Work Based Learning Program training curriculum, including all required safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones

A day in the life

The Logistics Specialist reviews Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure proper stock levels. Working with the Logistics Manager you create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle, tracking inventory location, movement, age and returns. You work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately, and with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface with vendors for RMAs and replacements.

Regular communication with vendors to resolve issues is essential.

Logistics Specialists are required to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment such as forklifts or cherry pickers. Candidates will work in a warehouse or data center environment depending on the region.

All candidates should be willing to work independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organization skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to success. You will be required to work shift work that includes days/nights, and may be required to work weekends/holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required and you must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.
