Our Railcar Mover Field Technician is primarily responsible for providing high quality rebuilds and repairs to respond to customer needs quickly and efficiently to ensure maximum value for work performed on railcar movers.
What You Will Do in This Role:- Perform repair and preventive maintenance on railcar moving equipment and evaluating for other preventative maintenance items to address with the customer.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
- Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
- Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment (preferred)
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with railcar movers)
- Stable work history
- Shuttlewagon experience is a plus
- Valid Class A CDL
