The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Radiation Oncology department invites board certified/board eligible applicants to apply for a full-time clinical faculty position to serve in its Wake/Johnston County division. The division encompasses 5 clinics, including UNC/Rex hospital in Raleigh and 4 freestanding facilities in Wakefield, East Raleigh, Clayton, and Smithfield. The centers are staffed by nine radiation oncologists, who work closely with colleagues in medical and surgical oncology at all sites.
Formal programs currently exist in Thoracic, Breast, Gyn, GI and GU oncology, with a robust patient navigation system, weekly tumor boards for each of these sites, and an active research program. We have active programs in SRS/SBRT and HDR brachytherapy. We are seeking candidates with excellent training, strong rapport with colleagues and referring physicians and willingness to grow programs with us.
We work closely with faculty at UNC in Chapel in the areas of clinical trials, IORT, brachytherapy. Opportunities exist for clinical trials research and operational leadership. At this time, we are seeking candidates to work full time across our centers. Physicians within the practice have primary work assignments and support each other with clinical coverage/rotations across the sites.
Work across the Wake/Johnston County division’s centers, including UNC/Rex hospital and four freestanding facilities, providing radiation oncology care in multiple subspecialty areas. Participate in weekly tumor boards, patient navigation, and clinical research projects. Collaborate with medical and surgical oncology colleagues, support clinical trials and IORT. Provide operational leadership and contribute to growth and development of programs in SRS/SBRT, HDR brachytherapy, and other specialties.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsMD degree with subspecialty training in Radiation Oncology. Board certification or eligibility is required.
Preferred Qualifications , Competencies, and ExperienceHighly-qualified and personable candidates with strong rapport with colleagues and referring physicians. Demonstrated experience in clinical trials research, operational leadership, and growth of radiation oncology programs.
