Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC)/North Carolina Children’s Hospital is seeking a 0.5 FTE, non‑tenure track faculty Neonatologist for the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Key Duties:
- Provide inpatient clinical services for approximately one week each month primarily in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) at Nash UNC Health Care.
- Deliver level II neonatal intensive care for stable, growing premature infants and readmitted infants less than 30 days old, including oxygen therapy, continuous monitoring, IV therapy, phototherapy, antibiotics, and OG/NG feedings.
- Utilize monitoring capabilities such as central cardiac/respiratory monitoring, apnea/bradycardia monitoring, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, glucose, and thermoregulation.
- Engage in teleconferencing consultations and continuing medical education with UNC.
Location and Setting: The SCN is housed in the Women’s Center building, a 47,048 square foot facility opened in May 2016, featuring 12 single rooms with sleeping accommodations, private bathrooms, and family hot meals.

Minimum
Education and Experience Requirements:
Board certified in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Pediatric Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine with training and experience in clinical neonatology.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement within the Division. Rank and salary commensurate with training, experience, and academic accomplishments.
