Overview

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an Open Rank, variable track position. The role includes leadership and consultative duties across inpatient and outpatient settings.

• General  at UNC Medical Center and UNC Hospitals' Hillsborough Campus, with an average census of approximately 15-20 adult medical, surgical, and/or behavioral health inpatients.
• Participation with ambulatory and inpatient e‑consult and/or tele‑ requests.
• Occasional supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Assisting clinical leadership with quality improvement efforts for inpatient consultation services.
• Participation in weekly  conferences and grand rounds.
• Serve as the Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention.

• Experience in providing consultative  to a highly complex patient population.
• Knowledge of six inpatient consult services, including consult services specializing in care of immunocompromised hosts.
• Staffing experience on a medical admitting service and providing outpatient consultative , as well as primary HIV care.
• Experience in compromised host and/or transplant infectious diseases consultation in the inpatient or outpatient setting preferred but not required.

• Provide leadership for UNC Hospitals' Infection Prevention efforts and support the current Executive Director with leadership for community‑based UNC Health hospitals and associated ambulatory clinics owned by UNC Health.>
• Provide consultative clinical Infectious Diseases care.
