About the University

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation seeks a full‑time physiatrist trained in pediatric rehabilitation medicine to join our rapidly expanding academic unit. The position involves inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation services across our outpatient clinics and UNC Children’s Hospital, with additional opportunities in teaching, research, and program development.

Position

Summary

The successful candidate will provide excellent clinical care to children and adolescents with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain injury, and other congenital and acquired pediatric disorders. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient consultations, multidisciplinary clinic development, ITB pump management, and pediatric EMG/NCVS testing. The role also includes teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative duties associated with an academic appointment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Board eligible/certified in PM&R.
  • Board eligible/certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • MD or DO with NC medical license or willingness to obtain state license.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • History of program development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Desire to enhance quality of patient care.
