The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting a Research Assistant Professor on the fixed‑term track. The successful candidate will serve as Director of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Research and Clinical Services at UNC Project, Malawi, coordinating all STI research, training, and clinical services. Responsibilities include supervising STI clinical care, leading implementation science research, managing research grants, organizing clinical and research training activities, and ensuring evidence‑based service delivery.

• Supervise and direct academic STI activities at UNC Project, Malawi, including clinical care and research.
• Lead grant submissions and grant management in collaboration with faculty at UNC‑CH.
• Organize clinical and research training for students from UNC and Malawi.
• Facilitate cost‑effective, evidence‑based clinical services supported by local implementation research.

• MD degree and Ph.D. in Public Health with an emphasis on implementation science.
• Successful demonstration of directing research grants in Malawi with documented scholarly publications.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience providing STI clinical care and conducting STI and implementation science research in Malawi.
• Fluent in Chichewa and English.
• Competent in implementation science research methods.
• Full‑time position based in Malawi.
