Purpose of Organizational Unit

Student Wellness envisions a thriving campus culture that is safe, equitable and well. As a health promotion and prevention office, we educate, advocate, support and promote individual and community health and well‑being. Through partnerships with other campus departments, community agencies, student organizations, and peer mentors we use evidence informed public health strategies to foster an environment that creates, emphasizes, and supports healthy choices and positive decision making regarding health, safety, and wellness.

We are a fast‑paced, high performing office that utilizes a holistic, topic‑integrated, and evidence‑based comprehensive approach to wellness, and are seeking experienced professionals to join our interdisciplinary team.

Position Summary

Student Wellness seeks an energetic, outgoing, and creative part‑time Program Assistant (PA) to work 10-15 hours per week during the Spring‑2026 academic year. The position will work as part of a dynamic team to assist with program planning and implementation across various health topics for the student population gram Assistants are responsible for assisting with topical workshop requests (Health Promotion, Dimensions of Wellness, Resiliency, Substance Use 101, Decisions, Sleep, nutrition, stress management, etc.),

annual campus‑wide programming (Fall Fest, Week of Welcome, Safetoberfest, Spring Carnival, LDOC, etc.), regular tabling events (departmental or topic promotions), and other department support as requested. Work will generally be scheduled between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours. Work hours are flexible and will accommodate class/academic schedules.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

  • Ability to work a flexible 15 hours per week throughout the Spring academic semester (January–June), including the potential for some evening and weekend hours.
  • Passion for providing student‑centered, positive customer service.
  • Ability to work in teams and to maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a variety of tasks, follow up on assignments, and take initiative on projects (time and project management proficiency).
  • Flexibility to work across disciplines to produce effective health promotion and prevention initiatives on campus.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic co‑working space with a diverse team to accomplish departmental goals.
