Director of Experiential Learning

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a Director of Experiential Learning to connect graduate students with real-world career experiences through the Graduate School. You build partnerships with employers in fields like engineering, health care, and technology, and design new formats beyond traditional internships. Success is measured by metrics you set with campus colleagues on student experiential learning and workforce outcomes.

• Design experiential formats beyond traditional internships, including micro-internships, project-based learning, and industry-sponsored research opportunities
• Create scalable solutions for matching students and employers using data-driven and AI approaches
• Direct student programming that builds workplace readiness for careers aligned with North Carolina economic needs
• Cultivate existing and new industry partnerships tied to North Carolina workforce needs and graduate student needs
• Define Carolina's differentiating advantage in experiential learning and set strategic metrics for student and workforce outcomes
• Collaborate on alumni engagement, industry partnerships, and external funding to support experiential professional development programming
• Work closely with the Associate Dean for Professional Development and partners across campus
• Master's degree, or bachelor's degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, plus working knowledge of generative and agentic AI
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and expertise in using data to inform strategy; employer relations or workforce development experience preferred
• Hiring range of $80,000 - $105,000 per year plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid within 30 days of hire
