Field Quality Engineer; Onsite

Field Quality Engineer (Onsite+Travel up to 50%)

Location: Office-based with occasional site visits

We’re looking for a detail-driven Field Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across manufacturing and installation processes. You’ll conduct inspections, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across departments to ensure top-tier product performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and able to transition seamlessly between office locations as Voltage expands into new facilities.

• Develop and implement QA processes aligned with industry and regulatory standards
• Conduct inspections, audits, and testing throughout production and installation
• Review engineering designs and documentation for quality risks
• Investigate non-conformances and warranty claims; lead root cause analysis and CAPA
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and sales teams
• Deliver training on quality standards and best practices
• Support supplier evaluations and qualifications
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Electrical, Quality Management, or related field
• 1–3 years in quality engineering or assurance (renewable energy preferred)
• Experience with inspections, audits, and testing of wiring/harnesses
• NABCEP certification preferred
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, IEC standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Proficiency in QA software, document control systems, and Microsoft Office
• Organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable in fast-paced environments

• Office-based in Chapel Hill, NC. Travel up to 50% for site visits
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
