Field Quality Engineer (Onsite+Travel up to 50%)Department: Quality Engineering Job Type: Full-time

Location: Office-based with occasional site visits
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-driven Field Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across manufacturing and installation processes. You’ll conduct inspections, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across departments to ensure top-tier product performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and able to transition seamlessly between office locations as Voltage expands into new facilities.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement QA processes aligned with industry and regulatory standards
- Conduct inspections, audits, and testing throughout production and installation
- Review engineering designs and documentation for quality risks
- Investigate non-conformances and warranty claims; lead root cause analysis and CAPA
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and sales teams
- Deliver training on quality standards and best practices
- Support supplier evaluations and qualifications
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Electrical, Quality Management, or related field
- 1–3 years in quality engineering or assurance (renewable energy preferred)
- Experience with inspections, audits, and testing of wiring/harnesses
- NABCEP certification preferred
- Familiarity with NEC, UL, IEC standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in QA software, document control systems, and Microsoft Office
- Organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Office-based in Chapel Hill, NC. Travel up to 50% for site visits
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
