Position Summary

The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Licensed Psychologist to serve as an Assistant or Associate Professor to participate in the research and clinical activities in the UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (CEED). This 1.0 FTE role will be responsible for working in a multidisciplinary team framework to provide assessments and interventions to individuals with eating disorders across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults).

Primary responsibilities include the provision of in‑person and virtual clinical services (individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and diagnostic evaluations) in our outpatient and inpatient settings. In addition, this individual will be involved in team meetings and conferences. Other opportunities may include teaching and supervising clinical trainees. Research opportunities may include providing treatment as a clinical trial therapist, contributing to research design, academic presentations, and publications.

Additional opportunities may also include presenting in professional training seminars.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

  • A PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Applicants must be licensed in the state of North Carolina prior to start date.
  • Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family‑based treatment (FBT), enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT‑E), and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT‑AR).

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

Post‑doctoral fellowship and/or experience using evidence‑based interventions in the treatment of individuals with eating disorders and experience with providing treatment in various levels of care are preferred.
