UNC Health is seeking a Recreational Therapist to join their team at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC. The Recreational Therapist will provide a full range of services to patients, including assessment, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. The therapist will also participate in professional development activities and mentorship to enhance patient care and departmental performance.

Responsibilities

Analyze comprehensive data from patient assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.

Develop and document patient discharge and transition plans.

Document and report patient responses to interventions, modifying treatment plans as necessary.

Implement treatment plans and interventions to restore, remediate, or rehabilitate patient functioning and independence.

Provide clinical education or supervision to staff, interns, and other disciplines.

Participate in quality improvement and resource management activities.

Respond to physician orders for patient assessment and treatment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy, including an internship.

Licensed as a Recreational Therapist by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure (NCBRTL).

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the NCTRC.

Experience in hospital-based mental health therapy services is highly preferred.

Experience working with children and adolescents in mental health is preferred.
