Occupational Therapist I – Lymphedema Specialist
Join UNC Health as an Occupational Therapist specializing in lymphedema care at the Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill, NC. This onsite position focuses exclusively on providing high‑quality, evidence‑based care to adult patients with lymphedema. You will deliver 60‑minute, one‑on‑one treatment sessions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and have opportunities for mentorship, certification support, and clinical growth.

- Patient Care:
Conduct thorough evaluations and implement evidence‑based treatment plans for adults with lymphedema. - Manual Therapy & Compression Techniques:
Apply complete decongestive therapy (CDT) and other modalities to manage swelling, improve mobility, and reduce risk of complications. - Documentation & Planning:
Maintain accurate documentation, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans based on clinical findings and patient feedback. - Clinical
Collaboration:
Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and maximize functional outcomes. - Student Supervision:
Mentor occupational therapy students and participate in clinical education as needed. - Professional Development:
Participate in department meetings, educational sessions, and ongoing learning opportunities to maintain best practices and licensure. - Community Advocacy:
Serve as a clinical resource and participate in outreach efforts that improve access to care and health equity for lymphedema patients.
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS within 3 months of hire date.
- No prior experience required.
- Effective communication and interprofessional skills; physical stamina for repetitive movements such as sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting while supporting one’s weight; high‑level problem‑solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
