PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To improve the quality of life for all residents in licensed facilities by through opportunities for meaningful engagement and creating an environment to support it.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assess the Life Enrichment (LE) needs of residents in Assisted Living (AL) and the Health Center (HC). Create, implement and evaluate plans to meet these needs through individual and group activities.
- Maintain calendar of activities and ensure that residents and staff are aware of the full range of opportunities that exist.
- Facilitate matching of AL/HC resident needs for satisfying participation in their chosen occupations and interests with available opportunities. Develop new activities and opportunities to fulfill unmet needs.
- Assist in ensuring that residents of licensed facilities remain integral members of the CW community:
- Create and maintain an enriched environment for CW licensed facilities, to include: elements of design and decoration, adaptive equipment, pets and plants, intergenerational activities, and supplies and tools needed for resident activities (group and individual).
- Collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to recruit, train, place, recognize and evaluate volunteers.
- Participate in off‑campus outings along with residents, volunteers and primary care staff. Drive vehicle as needed and license allows.
- Assure compliance with regulatory directives related to Life Enrichment for licensed facilities.
- Completion of mandatory online educational modules (monthly and as otherwise assigned).
- Attendance at required educational sessions, in‑services and staff meetings.
- Attendance at annual Culture Day session (full‑time is mandatory).
- Involvement/understanding of Organizational Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High school diploma, GED or bachelor’s degree.
- Activities Professional, Recreational Therapy or Occupational Therapy training or related experience.
Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience working with older adults
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, stoop and lift
- May have to move equipment or small pieces of furniture
- May involve assisting to lift or transfer residents.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be willing to rotate with other teammates for weekend and holiday coverage.
