The SOM Clinical Research Alliance oversees the Advancing Clinical Trials Globally (ACTG) Leadership and Operations Center (LOC). The Finance & Budget Manager will lead fiscal planning, budgeting, grant compliance, contract and subaward management, and supervise staff for the ACTG LOC. Responsibilities include preparation of budget types and all‑funds budgeting across many accounts, ensuring grant financial and regulatory compliance, managing contracts and subawards, overseeing post‑award business/financial activities, and recommending administrative policies to maximize efficiency.
Minimum Education and Experience- Mid‑to‑late career:
Master’s degree and 2–4 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience.
- Excellent verbal, analytical/quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of business, finance, accounting, and grant administration.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to independently create, analyze, and manipulate complex spreadsheets.
- Experience in UNC and UNC systems.
- 5 years of related work experience.
- Experience working in an academic medical center or university.
- Knowledge of university and funding agency policies on grant administration.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
