Director of Development
Position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities- Lead strategic direction and execution of comprehensive fundraising initiatives.
- Develop and implement forward-thinking development strategies for major, planned, and annual gifts.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors, securing high-value gifts aligning with institutional priorities, with an annual revenue goal of $1 million.
- Collaborate with Dean, Boards, University partners to align fundraising with strategic initiatives.
- Build and maintain external relationships, serving as key ambassador.
- Work with Development Office, Prospect Management, Research, Analytics teams to identify major gift prospects.
- Oversee development team to enhance donor experiences and stewardship; maintain CRM data and reports.
- Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree (or foreign equivalent) with ≥3 years of related professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree + ≥5 years experience.
- Progressive fundraising experience in higher education or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Strong critical thinking, judgment, and strategic development skills.
- Exceptional planning, coordination, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire a development team.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Experience interacting effectively in a comprehensive research university setting.
- Familiarity with academic/administrative offices functions and ability to tap institutional resources.
