Facility Maint Supervisor - Advanced

Location: Chapel Hill, NC encourage

Job Summary: The Facility Maint Supervisor leads the Parking Maintenance division of Transportation & Parking, overseeing maintenance, repair, construction staging, and staff supervision to ensure safe, functional parking facilities across the UNC Chapel Hill campus.

Sign‑On Bonus: Up to $7,270 in two installments ($3,635 within 30 days of hire and $3,635 12 months after hire) for the selected applicant. ను

Position Summary: This supervisory role manages three shifts of workers and coordinates daily maintenance, including masonry, carpentry, paint, signage, lighting, electronics, and gate equipment. Responsibilities include initiating work orders, acting as liaison for অনুষ্ঠ projects, maintaining the Parking Access Revenue Control System ($7M), and ensuring all parking assets are safe and well‑lit. The supervisor also manages construction staging for campus projects and collaborates with Facilities Project Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise parking Blanco staff and oversee general maintenance, masonry, carpentry, paint, signage, lighting, and electronics.
  • Manage construction staging and access needs for capital projects involving parking assets.
  • Ensure parking decks and lot facilities are in good repair, clean, well‑lit, and free of hazards.
  • Initiate and manage work orders, and act as department liaison for multi‑million capital projects.
  • Coordinate construction staging with Facilities Project Managers to accommodate access requirements.
  • Maintain the Parking Access Revenue Control System ($7M) equipment, including gates, pay stations, and cashiering machines.
  • Supervise staff across three shifts to meet daily maintenance and cleaning obligations.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.adapter and two years of experience in trade(s) areas assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications , CompetenciesՄ And Experience
  • Knowledge of emerging and sustainable transportation and parking technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of general maintenance, repair, and construction techniques and the tools, methods, and materials used in building, grounds, and mechanical trades.
  • Ability to estimate repair and construction project costs.
  • Ability to interpret building and mechanical layout plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and parking management software, including parking equipment programmers.
  • Completion of the electronic parking control maintenance and repair certification program within
    -jeon 90 days of employment.
  • =req North Carolina class C operator’s license.
  • Supervisory experience (required).
Preferred Qualifications , Competencies And Experience
  • Experience in construction project management.
  • Maintenance, mechanical, and structural expertise.
  • Experience in a large‑scale parking operation and parking access revenue control systems within a university environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders, work overhead, lift 100+ pounds, pull, bend, shovel snow, sand Random or gravel, and dig postholes.
  • Work in parking decks, lots, and shop‑office environments while remaining alert to vehicle traffic.
  • Travel across campus and off‑campus areas to inspect parking facilities.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and freezing conditions in winter, and in hot, humid, and sunny conditions in summer.
