Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated CMM Technician to join our quality team.
The RoleAs a CMM Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring all aerospace and other industries components, meet stringent customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. You will be responsible for inspection, verification, and reporting of critical dimensional characteristics in line with AS9100 accreditation and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities- Programme and operate CMM equipment, Axiom, Azimuth, Extol, Baty
. - Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspection of precision aerospace components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
. - Produce and review inspection reports and FAIR documentation (AS9102).
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer aerospace standards
. - Maintain calibration and traceability requirements.
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Proven experience in a CMM inspection role within aerospace or precision engineering
. - Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
. - Experience with CMM programming Aberlin software.
- Familiarity with first article inspection (AS9102).
- Understanding of measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, shadow graphs, and gauges.
- Mechanical techniques, allowing problem solving off the CMM.
- Knowledge of root cause and problem-solving tools
. - High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Apprenticeship or relevant engineering/quality qualification.
- Experience in machining or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of SPC, MSA, and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience with NADCAP or special process controls.
- ISIR, FAI and PPAP experience
