Home Health Aide

Village Caregiving - Martinsburg is seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide in-home care to clients in Charles Town, WV. In this role, you will assist clients with daily living activities to promote their comfort, safety, and independence in their own homes.

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility and transferring to prevent injury and promote physical activity.
• Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary guidelines.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
• Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes to the supervisory nurse or family members.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ well‑being.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress.
• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals.
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members.
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred / required.
• Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or in a caregiving role is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for client care.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes.
• Pass background checks and meet any state certification requirements.
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner.
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks.
