Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking a Concrete Form/Finisher to support construction projects within the Charleston, SC area. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for supporting concrete projects including concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk placement, setting string lines, form setting, and finishing concrete. Concrete professionals are a critical component to Sanders Brother's 60+ years of success in the asphalt paving industry.

Sanders Brothers Construction Company, Inc. is a fully bonded, licensed and insured general contractor of heavy highway, street, and road construction located in North Charleston, South Carolina. Our area of work includes residential and commercial developments, as well as heavy highway and DOT construction. We have the capability of performing a turn‑key site work package in‑house to include cost estimation, project management, surveying, grading, asphalt paving, concrete curb and gutter, flatwork, storm drainage, and water and sewer systems.

We also have three asphalt production plants, an active concrete and asphalt recycling division which includes a mobile crusher that travels around the southeast, as well as a soil stabilization division.

• Work on commercial, DOT and residential projects including curb, sidewalk, gutter, ramps, and other flatwork as needed.
• Prepare, align and set horizontal concrete forms.
• Use saws to cut expansion joints or remove concrete.
• Finish concrete which may include dye, color, stamp, or various other types of finish.
• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as curbs, sidewalks, roads, pads, and ramps using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Understand concrete measurements.
• Ability to use all tools required by concrete finishers.
• Ability to work weekends as needed which may require working more than 40 hours.
• Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
• Keep work site areas and company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle or site problems.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.

• 0-2 years experience (preferred) working with concrete, building/dismantling forms and supporting concrete pouring/finishing operation.
• Experience finishing curb, gutter, drains and ADA ramps (preferred).
• Knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction. Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations (preferred).
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
• Employee will be required to long periods of time standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to drug and background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.

• Operate concrete curb machine.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
