Project Superintendent Water & Sewer Utility Construction Charleston, South Carolina Are you an experienced utility construction leader who takes pride in building critical infrastructure, developing high-performing crews, and delivering projects safely and efficiently?

We are seeking a Project Superintendent based in Charleston, SC to lead water and sewer pipeline construction projects throughout the Southeast. As a Project Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in directing field operations, mentoring crews, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards.

What You'll DoLead Field Operations Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily construction activities on water and sewer pipeline projects.

Manage crews, equipment, subcontractors, and work sequencing to maintain production goals.

Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.

Champion Safety Lead daily safety efforts and promote a strong safety culture.

Ensure compliance with trenching, excavation, shoring, and utility construction safety requirements.

Conduct jobsite safety inspections and address potential hazards proactively.

Manage Project Execution Coordinate material, equipment, and manpower needs with Project Managers.

Monitor job progress, productivity, and quality standards.

Communicate effectively with owners, engineers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.

Develop and Support Your Team Mentor and train field personnel to support their professional development.

Assist with crew management, performance coaching, and workforce planning.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Administrative Responsibilities Complete and submit daily crew time reporting and required project documentation.

Maintain accurate records related to labor, equipment, and project activities.

What We're Looking For Required Experience
10+ years of experience in the water and sewer construction industry.
5+ years of experience as a Foreman or Superintendent leading utility construction crews.

Proven experience managing pipeline installation projects from field execution through completion.

Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of water and sewer utility installation practices.

Experience operating large excavators in the 80, lb class.

Knowledge of trenching, excavation, and trench shoring systems.

Competent Person experience related to excavation and trench safety.

Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance.

Qualifications Valid driver's license.

Ability to maintain an active DOT physical.

Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon employment; physical card required).Leadership Traits Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Travel Requirements This position is based in Charleston, South Carolina.

Travel is required for projects located throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Approximately 90% of project work is currently located in South Carolina.
