Culinary Instructor/Program Coordinator #2587
Charleston, SC
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000
Responsibilities- This position reports directly to the Department Head. Serves as lead instructor for the programs assigned. The primary responsibilities of the program coordinator are to teach courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction; to design and develop curriculum; evaluate student performance; and advise students. Additional responsibilities are to assist the department head with program development, budget, and equipment.
- This position requires an associate degree in culinary, baking, and pastry or a related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible related work/teaching experience. Ideal candidate will have two (2) years of teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary culinary arts program. The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in a related field plus teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary culinary arts program.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 (three) years of culinary experience as a sous chef or chef capacity and possess current Serv Safe Manager Certification and, or ACF certification as certified chef de cuisine or higher. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
