Job Description Summary

The Business Manager II directly reports to the Enterprise Senior Director of Finance. Under limited supervision, the Business Manager II provides credible/reliable, consistent, standardized, and integrated financial support services to Supply Chain and Revenue Cycle along with other Corporate areas. The Business Manager II serves as a financial resource to systems leaders by reviewing and monitoring financial activities of the corporate areas on daily, monthly, and annual basis.

This includes participating in month-end close and preparing journal entries and monitoring the intercompany activities. This role will work directly with Systems Director in the development of annual budgets and identification of performance metrics and benchmarking. Manages special projects as assigned by leadership.

Job Description Business Manager IIPrepare Annual Budget:

Financial oversight and coordination of the annual operating budget with Leaders.

Success Criteria:
  • a. Work closely with Chief, Associate Chiefs and Directors to develop realistic projections of expenses for accurate operating budgets across all markets.
  • b. Accurately track movement of all FTEs between MUSCP and MUHA and budget accordingly
  • c. Trend vendor spend analysis to develop operating budgets annually in partnership with operational leaders.
  • d. Submit budget changes in Axiom and balance to budget
  • e. Track change the business and sandbox items
  • f. Prepare Corporate BOC budget presentation
  • g. Conduct dry-run presentations with respective Leader(s) to present to Corp BOC
Financial Management Reporting:

Review monthly financial performance reviews with leaders.

Success Criteria:
  • a. Reviews and analyzes financial data for month end close
  • b. Prepare EIBs, journal entries and accruals as appropriate to maintain budget alignment and financial integrity
  • c. Trend vendor expenses and alert leaders on missing invoices
  • d. Prepares month-end and year-end financial reports using various financial systems and data sources to provide further explanation on fiscal operations
  • e. Prepares Financial presentations as needed for BOC, TeamSC, etc.
  • f. Supports Leaders in submitting month end variance notes
  • g. Push month-end reports to leaders along with a departmental stoplight
  • h. Present financials and FTEs trends at monthly leadership meetings
  • h. Monitor ongoing expenses, trends, and variances of each cost center
  • i. Initiate corrective action plans with Leaders for any discrepancies or negative budget projections
  • j. Identify OFI’s and submit to the Corporate Finance Director monthly

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience

Work Experience:

7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
