The Dahne Lab within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina announces a Staff Scientist I position focusing on behavioral health (smoking cessation, mood disorders) and technology-based interventions (telehealth, remote clinical trials). The successful candidate will assist with ongoing clinical trials, develop innovative remote trial methods, and have opportunities to initiate new projects and conduct secondary data analyses.
This role includes collaboration on scientific articles, leadership of new NIH grant applications, and mentorship in grant‑funded research related to behavioral health and telehealth.
- Manage moderate-size projects, including NIH-funded clinical trials of novel telehealth and digital health interventions.
- Oversee recruitment milestones, prepare study reports, and contribute to statistical analyses.
- Contribute to project development and grant design, including literature reviews, statistical plans, and grant writing.
- Develop and submit competitive internally and externally funded grant applications.
- Publish scholarly works.
- Identify and troubleshoot research conduct issues; provide presentations at society meetings.
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent with at least two years postdoctoral experience.
- Record of research productivity, scientific writing, and statistical proficiency.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Interest in academic entrepreneurship is welcomed.
