Job Description Summary
This is a full‑time faculty position at the Medical University of South Carolina. The Audiologist will complete evaluation and dispensing of amplification, assistive devices and osseointegrated devices, provide outpatient and inpatient diagnostic audiology services, participate in clinical research, and provide instruction and supervision of interns, residents, and doctoral students.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and dispense amplification, assistive devices, and osseointegrated devices.
- Provide outpatient and inpatient diagnostic audiology services to patients referred by ENT physicians.
- Participate in ongoing clinical research coordinated through the Department of Otolaryngology.
- Supervise 4th‑year Audiology Doctoral students and instruction of interns and residents.
- Deliver lectures to residents, house‑staff, and audiology seminars.
- Clinic services will be performed at the main office in downtown Charleston and at a satellite office.
- Doctor of Audiology Degree from an accredited institution.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
- South Carolina Audiology Licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability to perform job functions while walking, mobile, climbing stairs, and performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs., unassisted; lift up to 75 lbs., from floor to a height of 36 inches, unassisted.
- Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected), hearing acuity with correction, and good fine motor dexterity.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Computer literacy.
- Work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
