Position: EEG Technologist I - Inpatient

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hospital’s Clinical Neurophysiology Department (CNPS) offers a wide selection of neurological diagnostic testing for neonate to adult patients. MUSC has an AANEM accredited Lab with advanced technology and attending physicians. As MUSC’s neuroscience program expands, we seek dedicated individuals passionate about delivering excellent healthcare.

Our Clinical Neurophysiology Lab includes five accredited labs: EMG, IOM, Outpatient EEG, Inpatient EEG, and Neurovascular teams. We are among the most accredited neurophysiology labs in the U.S., with highly qualified technologists. The department offers opportunities for advancement and continuing education within our academic environment and the broader MUSC Health system.

Job Description: The Inpatient EEG Technician performs assessments, documentation, and education under supervision, including routine and continuous video EEG studies, following departmental guidelines and the 10-20 system. The role involves mentoring lower-level technicians, monitoring in-patient vEEG/LTM, and interacting professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and families. Requires critical thinking, decisiveness, and minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Electroneuro diagnostic program or equivalent; registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET.
  • One year EEG Technician experience preferred. BLS certification preferred.
  • May require irregular hours, rotating shifts, and weekends.
