The Vendue is seeking to hire a top-notch Room Attendant with a passion for hospitality. We desire to hire someone who is detail-oriented, and who takes pride in, and responsibility for, cleanliness and special touches in our guest rooms. Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Thorough cleaning of guest rooms using proper procedures, tools, and cleaning supplies.
  • Restock guest supplies and amenities with approved items in guest rooms.
  • Ensure all appliances and plumbing in guest rooms are in working order.
  • Remove trash to proper receptacles.
  • Leave guest rooms ready for inspection to company standards.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests.
  • Perform turn-down duties to specifications when assigned.
  • Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines.

Note:

This is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Executive Housekeeping Manager or other managers.

Job Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Room Attendant.
  • Familiar with the industry’s best practices.
Skills & Abilities
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks; ability to work under pressure, be organized, be self-motivated, and work well with others.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English and communicate with the team (using a translator app if necessary).
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor environment; may require outdoor exposure when duties take you outside.
Equipment To Be Used
  • Various cleaning tools including vacuums, mops, brooms, dusters, and chemicals.
  • Washer, dryer, and iron when necessary.
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle; frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to handle equipment and utensils.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment.
Work Environment
  • While primarily an indoor job, one must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Will work primarily in guest rooms as well as public areas and laundry room on occasion.

Location
  • Located at 19 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC 29401, The Vendue is in the heart of Charleston’s French Quarter and Art District.
  • Steps away from Waterfront Park, Charleston City Market, and Rainbow Row, along with other historic attractions, shopping, and dining.
Hourly Pay
  • $15.00 per hour full-time. Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a week.
  • Sign-on bonus: $250 awarded after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 will be awarded after 6 months of employment.
