Senior Manager Information Systems & Cyber Security with Security Clearance
North Charleston, SC
. Ability to obtain clearance required. Adapt Forward seeks a hands‑on leader who builds and mentors a high‑performing team. In this role you will architect, secure, and continuously improve a Microsoft‑centric enterprise environment while coaching a small team of Systems and Security Engineers.
- Own end‑to‑end administration of Microsoft 365 (Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune).
- Design and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks using Zero Trust principles.
- Automate routine tasks through Power Shell, Graph API, and Intune configuration profiles.
- Manage asset lifecycle and SaaS licensing for a growing, distributed workforce.
- Implement secure configuration baselines for Windows, macOS, mobile, and cloud workloads.
- Deploy and tune the Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Intune MTD).
- Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability management, and purple‑team validation to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain SIEM/SOAR detections and integrate log sources into Microsoft Sentinel.
- Lead readiness and evidence collection for ISO
27001, NIST
800-171, and CMMC Level 2 assessments. - Map security controls to customer and regulatory requirements, develop POA&Ms, and track remediation.
- Author and maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NIST CSF and CIS benchmarks.
- Coordinate third‑party penetration tests and manage incident‑response exercises.
- Coach a small team of Systems and Security Engineers, setting clear OKRs and providing technical guidance.
- Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and documentation.
- Partner with Program, HR, and Finance leaders to align technology strategy with business objectives.
- Own departmental budgeting, vendor management, and roadmap execution.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field and 8+ years of progressive IT experience.
- 5+ years administering Microsoft 365 and Azure AD at scale, including conditional access and MFA.
- Master’s degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Certified:
Cybersecurity Architect Expert, or CMMC Pro. - Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal customers under DFARS and FedRAMP requirements.
- Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Defender solutions and security hardening best practices.
- Proven leadership of at least two successful external compliance audits (SOC2, ISO
27001, or CMMC). - Expert level Power Shell and experience with Infrastructure as Code or deployment pipelines (e.g., Azure Dev Ops).
- Familiarity with container security, secure software supply chain.
- Experience managing outsourced MSP/MSSP partners.
- Certifications:
ITIL or PMP certification.
