PositionCloud Systems Administrator
Key Responsibilities- Manage and deploy hardware profiles and firmware upgrades for Cisco UCS blades (B2xx series) and associated UCS shelves and hardware
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain VMware hypervisors, VMware vCenter, and associated cloud infrastructure components
- Perform system hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and work with IA/C&A teams to execute required security scan, compliance audits, and applicable STIG templates for VMware and server components
- Troubleshoot VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and perform upgrades/STIGS on virtual appliance
- Troubleshoot complex system issues in preproduction and production environments; perform root cause analysis and corrective action
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Power Shell, Python, etc.) to streamline deployment and operational workflows
- Monitor system performance and capacity across local and remote environments; optimize configurations to improve reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to design, test, and implement integrated cloud‑based and on‑premises solutions
- Manage SAN storage infrastructure, perform daily maintenance, and ensure data integrity and recoverability
- Create and maintain lifecycle documentation, including configuration management, patching records, and architectural design artifacts
- Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend improvements, and contribute to modernization initiatives
- Support DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance through technical documentation, validation testing, and audit readiness
- Provide Tier III support for escalated system and infrastructure incidents
- Participate in after‑hours or on‑call rotation as required to support mission‑critical systems
- Required
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems
- Minimum of three (3) years of IT professional experience overseeing hybrid software, web, and physical or virtual hardware systems from design through deployment and maintenance
- Experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware through full lifecycle engineering (design, coding, testing, deployment, and support)
- At least one (1) year of technical experience supporting systems engineering or administration within a cloud‑based enterprise hosting environment
- Required
Certifications: - At least one (1) of the following:
CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - At least one (1) of the following (or COR‑approved equivalent): IEEE CS Software Development Associate Engineer Certification, Microsoft Role‑Based Certifications (e.g., MCAD, MCDBA), Red Hat Certified Professional (RHCP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), VMware Certified Technical Associate – Data Center Virtualization, Citrix Certified Administrator, Cloud Certifications such as AWS Architect, Developer, or Sys Ops Associate, Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer, Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher
- Required Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance (Top Secret eligibility preferred)
