Real Estate Associate​/Attorney – Charleston, SC

The client is looking for a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate to join their dynamic team. We are searching for a candidate with a strong background in commercial real estate law and a proven track record of successfully representing clients in various real estate transactions and legal matters.

In this role, you will represent clients in various real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, common and preferred equity investments, leases, development, zoning issues, ownership, joint ventures, and corporate governance. You will provide legal counsel to developers and investors, as well as represent lenders in real property-secured financings. Additionally, you will negotiate and draft agreements for different real estate transactions and represent clients in zoning appeals, property tax assessments, and workforce housing agreements.

The ideal candidate should hold a Jur an accredited law school and be eligible for admission to the South Carolina Bar. They must demonstrate the ability to independently manage and close complex real estate transactions. A minimum of five years of experience in commercial real estate law is required. It is essential to have strong expertise in real estate finance, zoning, entitlement, and land use.

Experience in negotiating joint ventures and representing developers, lenders, and institutional clients is preferred.

• 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, running deals with partner support
• Experience in real estate finance, zoning, entitlement, and land use.
• Representing developers, lenders, and institutional clients.
• Negotiating and drafting real estate transaction agreements.
• Experience negotiating joint ventures
• Experience at a top 200 law firm

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• South Carolina Bar membership.
• Located in or willing to relocate to Charleston, SC.
• Ability to work 3 days in the office in Charleston.
