Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Part‑Time Day shift (7 am‑3 pm) at Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community.
Certified Nursing Assistants provide quality care by assisting residents with personal, nutritional, and restorative care. The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, organized, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting elderly residents.
Typical Day and Responsibilities- Assist licensed personnel with basic nursing care to the assigned group of residents.
- Provide personal care for residents including bathing, showering, shampooing, oral hygiene, skin care, hair and nail care, dressing, and shaving as needed.
- Assist residents with nutritional needs, serving, feeding, and ensuring proper fluid intake.
- Assist with restorative care: range‑of‑motion exercises, proper positioning, and ambulation.
- Measure weight, height, vital signs, specimen collection, intake, output, and provide catheter care as needed.
- Record and give reports on residents’ condition at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Exchange resident information with the charge nurse continuously.
- Communicate and cooperate with other multidisciplinary healthcare team members to accomplish the care plan.
- Accompany residents to appointments as directed by the nursing supervisor.
- Launder residents’ personal items as needed.
- Accept additional duties as necessary in a cooperative manner.
- Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.
- Follow established facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with residents’ rights and HIPAA.
- Certified Nurse’s Aide listed on the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry with an active certification in good standing.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in all aspects of long‑term care for the elderly.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for exchanging information and maintaining courteous relationships with residents, families, visitors, and employees.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
