Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse RN

Pay: $40 to $48 per hour

Location:

Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System, Charleston, South Carolina. Onsite. Local candidates only. No travel contracts.

• Day shifts only
• Weekdays, weekends, and federal holidays required
• Typical shifts
• 7:30am to 4:00pm
• 8:00am to 4:30pm
• 8:30am to 5:00pm

You provide direct chemotherapy and immunotherapy nursing care in a VA infusion clinic. You support Veterans receiving oncology and hematology treatments. You work as part of an interdisciplinary care team and follow VA and Oncology Nursing Society standards.

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy agents
• Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions
• Manage ports, PICC lines, venipuncture, and transfusions
• Identify and respond to infusion reactions and emergencies
• Review labs and provider orders prior to treatment
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effects
• Document all care in VA electronic medical records
• Follow infection control and medication safety protocols
• Support clinic coverage during scheduled hours

• Active unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum two years recent experience in chemotherapy or immunotherapy infusion
• Experience with in the last six months in an infusion setting
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration Course completed
• Strong IV and central line skills
• Ability to pass VA credentialing, background screening, and health requirements

• Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation certification
• BSN or higher
• VA or hospital infusion clinic experience What You Get
