Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level I trauma center, teaching facility, and Magnet hospital

• Float to various medical-surgical units at the main hospital and Ashley River Tower

• Care for adult med/surg patient populations with ratios varying by unit assignment

• Night shift schedule with 3x12hr shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

• No on-call required

• EPIC EMR system is used; prior EPIC experience preferred

• Solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms required for scrubs

• First time travelers will be considered for this position

• Must be separated from previous staff employment (including PRN) for at least 1 year to be eligible

• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation

• All RNs may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)

• Block scheduling may be approved depending on unit needs

• Acceptance of local candidates within a 60 mile radius is on a case-by-case basis

• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start

• Paid parking is available with a registration fee for a garage hang tag

Requirements

• Active South Carolina or compact RN license required prior to start

• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical RN experience

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

• Experience working in large hospitals or float environments preferred

• Social Security card and driver's license required for consideration
