American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma, academic Magnet-designated hospital requiring SC or compact RN license and OR scrub experience.
Details- Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma academic teaching facility
- 21 OR suites covering Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics specialties
- Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
- RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
- Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30a-7p, including Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
- No on-call requirement
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
- Charting system is Epic
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Fast-paced, nurse-driven Magnet designated OR department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local consideration; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on position needs
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed and depends on unit needs
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
