American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma, academic Magnet hospital, requiring SC or compact RN license and scrub experience preferred.
Details- Work in the Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching, Magnet-designated hospital
- 21-OR suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Weekend requirement of up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
- Charting system used is EPIC
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma experience required
- SSN required for consideration
- Provides circulating and scrubbing support for a wide range of surgical specialties in a busy, nurse-driven department
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Must work at least one holiday period, either Christmas (Dec 24-26) or New Year's (Dec 31-Jan
1) - Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius for travel rate consideration, with non-local candidates prioritized
- All RTO must be submitted and approved at time of offer based on facility needs
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
