American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN for night shifts at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

• Float pool position covering medical surgical units at the Main hospital and Ashley River Tower
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratios may vary depending on the unit assigned
• Uses EPIC for charting

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including starting and maintaining IVs
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including use of rapid response/code teams
• SSN required for consideration

• Work at a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
• Scrubs required: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, depending on unit needs
• All staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius for travel consideration, with non-local candidates prioritized
