American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Oncology unit requiring SC or compact RN license, NIH Stroke Scale certification, and prior oncology nursing experience.

• Oncology unit on the 4th floor of a hospital setting
• Unit currently has 18 beds with plans to expand to 30 beds by March/April
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 6-7:1
• Team nursing approach with techs on the unit and unit secretaries on day shift
• Charts using the Meditech documentation system
• Scheduled shifts run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week scheduling period
• Holiday rotation required in accordance with facility policy
• Floating to like units required as needs dictate
• Standard medical-surgical equipment used on the unit

• Active RN license (SC or compact)
• Current BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can be obtained onsite)
• Chemo/ONC certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg or Oncology specialty
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reporting with patients
• Work alongside a Charge Nurse and support staff to deliver team-based patient care
• Navy-colored scrubs required per unit dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered for this assignment
