American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring SC or Compact RN license and prior neurological nursing experience.

• Work in a 23-bed inpatient General Neurology/Medical Stroke/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for adult and geriatric patients
• Unit manages medical stroke and general neurology diagnoses including Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, and seizures
• Supports Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center programs, including overflow neurosurgical and spine surgery patients
• Nine rooms are hard-wired for continuous epilepsy monitoring
• One room designated as a reverse air flow room
• 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Requires 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week period plus holiday rotation
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• No on-call requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Experience in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA, and pre/post neurosurgery preferred
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring
• Must be able to respond to rapid response/code team situations
• Social Security Number required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care for neurological, stroke, and epilepsy monitoring patients
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
• Must complete approximately 4 hours of pre-start training modules
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized; local candidates considered at a lower rate
• Time off requests must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
