Steer offers a suite of software tools for today’s automotive repair shops. We combine a mix of software tools that a shop needs to run a highly profitable operation into one user‑friendly, cost‑effective platform. Through the Steer suite, we allow shop owners to focus on what matters and stop worrying about marketing and customer retention.

Steer started as an online directory for drivers to find a local mechanic. Today we have launched a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite offering text messaging, email automation, direct mail integration, reputation management, appointment reminders, declined/reacted services, and many other features. In August 2024 we acquired Auto Ops – a leader in modern, intelligent, fully integrated scheduling software for auto repair shops.

Auto Ops allows customers to schedule smoothly through a shop’s website and Google Business Profile.

About

The Role

We’re building a new team in a rapidly growing auto tech vertical – we’re looking for a Business Development Representative to help us make it happen. In this role, you’ll uncover new business opportunities, run engaging product demos, and guide customers through a fast, consultative sales process.

Location

Onsite in Charleston, SC.

Compensation

$90k OTE ($60k base + commission).

You Are

You Will
  • Make high‑volume outbound cold calls and lead online product demos.
  • Become an expert in our SaaS product and target market.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and forecasts in our CRM.
  • Use a consultative approach to tailor solutions to prospect needs.
You Have Must Have
  • 1+ years of sales experience with proven quota attainment.
  • Experience running product demos/consultations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Nice To Have
  • SaaS sales experience.
  • Automotive industry knowledge.
  • CRM expertise for pipeline management.
  • Experience with a fast sales cycle (1–2 call close).
