GEL Laboratories, LLC is looking for a Laboratory Analyst-in-Training to join our General Chemistry Laboratory in Charleston, SC. This full-time day shift role focuses on sample preparation and basic bench‑top testing supporting environmental compliance programs for water, soil, and hazardous waste samples.

• Perform routine sample preparation activities (aliquoting, filtration, extraction, digestion, preservation).
• Conduct basic hazardous waste characterization tests (flashpoint, viscosity).
• Follow complex procedures involving sample preparation, instrumentation operation, and calibration.
• Enter data, perform initial data reduction, review data.
• Basic troubleshooting of methods and instrumentation.
• Review peers’ analytical data.
• Communicate with internal customers or auditors.
• Support GEL core values and conduct procedures that support other operations in the laboratory.

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• Minimum one year of related laboratory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Understanding of laboratory ware preparation procedures.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Work Monday‑Friday or Tuesday‑Saturday schedules.

• Precise hand/eye coordination and finger/hand manipulation.

• Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
