Installation Technician, Building Maintenance
Overview
The Lead Fireplace Installer is responsible supervising and executing the installation of natural and engineered stone in both interior and exterior applications. The role ensures high-quality craftsmanship, compliance with safety and building codes, and coordination with other trades to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities- Lead the installation of stone materials on construction projects.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, layout plans, and shop drawings.
- Prepare and level surfaces for stone installation; oversee cutting, shaping, and fitting of stone.
- Supervise and train installers.
- Ensure alignment, leveling, grouting, sealing, and finishing of installed stone meets aesthetic and technical standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, designers, and other trades to ensure material availability and correct execution.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, durability, and compliance.
- Enforce site safety practices and conduct safety briefings.
- Maintain daily reports, track material usage, and assist in project documentation.
- Continue education to ensure current with latest regulations, safety initiatives, and overall awareness of products.
- Assist in warehouse related tasks when necessary.
- 3-5 years’ experience in stone installation or masonry work.
- Familiarity with operating cutting tools, grinders, polishers, and lifting equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of stone materials, adhesives, and sealants.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Trade certification in tiling or stone installation.
- Experience with large-scale commercial or luxury residential projects.
- Experience in working with both wet and dry fixing systems.
- Ability to use laser levels and digital measuring tools.
