Job Description

Allied Universal Technology Services is hiring a Service Technician to drive our mission of being the world's most trusted service provider. The technician will perform service, maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on access control systems and IP-based video equipment, including electrified/non-electrified locks, card readers, IP/analog cameras, intercoms, video recorders, and wired/wireless systems.

What to Expect as a Commercial Security Service Technician
  • Travel to commercial client sites to service, identify, repair, troubleshoot, and detect access control equipment and IP-based video security systems. Including but not limited to:
    • Electrified/non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices
    • IP/analog cameras, head‑end video recording devices
    • Wired/wireless systems and intercom systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues efficiently and effectively to ensure company compliance, standards and building codes, as well as company safety policies and procedures
  • Execute, document, and track service-related issues through Service Now in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Interpret electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for use in low‑voltage applications
  • Provide phone and online remote diagnostic support with a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Collaborate and perform tasks with other internal teams and clients as required
Qualifications (Must Have)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a company‑issued vehicle
  • Minimum of two (2) years of field experience in the electronic security industry
  • State‑specific licensing or ability to obtain and hold license once hired
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly navigate and oversee the use of multiple systems and applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills to document and report important information with all levels of the organization
  • Ensure the completion of tasks and projects, both independently and as part of a team, to meet deadlines and contribute to the overall success of the organization
  • Available for schedule “on‑call” duties to respond to emergency service tickets/requests
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electronics aptitude
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and work on various ladder heights
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Highly skilled in the electronic security industry
  • Experience and/or manufacturer certifications in any of the following:
    Lenel, S2, Genetec AMAG, Brivo, Milestone, Software House/CCURE, Axis, Avigilon, Exacqvision, DMP, Bosch, Edwards (EST), Simplex, Notifier, Firelite
