We are expanding our U.S. operations and seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join our Charleston team. Position Overview:We are looking for a Licensed Customs Broker with experience managing U.S. Customs and their Partner Government Agencies operations. The ideal candidate is adept at navigating rapidly shifting priorities while maintaining strong communication and client relationships.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process customs entries for inbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations.
- Maintain communication with clients to provide release updates and address inquiries.
- Problem-solve and coordinate with importers, CBP, PGAs to address shipment holds, exams, and other clearance-related issues.
- Classify a wide range of products for new and existing clients using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
- Track and transmit entries to U.S. Customs.
- Analyze and interpret import regulations, maintaining current knowledge of Tariff changes.
- Identify and implement procedures to minimize import duties as allowed under customs law.
- Prioritize time-sensitive shipments and client needs.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment data within our internal technology systems.
- Produce and analyze ACE portal reports for both EPT Global and our clients.
- Maintain professionalism through exceptional customer service, communication, and consistency.
- 3+ years of experience with a Customs House Broker/International Freight Forwarder.
- Strong working knowledge of both U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency entry process, rules and regulations.
- Thorough familiarity with product classification, IEEPA, Sec. 232, customs valuation, customs regulations and Incoterms, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Tech-savvy; experience with various software including Magaya Logistics, Zoho Creator, Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
