** Purpose** || The Controller oversees financial operations for the company, ensuring accurate accounting, complaint reporting and strong financial controls. This role manages job costing, project financials, cash flow, and month-end close processes while supporting project managers and leadership with timely financial insights. || || --- ||
** Responsibilities** ||
* Oversee general accounting functions.
* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare financial statements and internal reports.
* Track job-level costs, progress billing, retainage, and margin performance
* Prepare budgets, cash flow projections, and rolling forecasts.
* Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and operational specific accounting rules.
* Partner with operational managers to provide cost reports, WIP schedules and variance analysis
* Prepare documentation for audits, bonding and tax filings. || || --- ||
** Knowledge & Skills** ||
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to both financial and non‐financial stakeholders.
* Proven ability to build effective working relationships across departments, providing guidance and support to operational leaders.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
* Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all financial documentation and reporting.
* Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and recordkeeping practices.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret financial data and recommend solutions.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and reporting cycles efficiently.
* Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team while also exercising independent judgment.
* Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs, project demands, and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability and integrity.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with professionalism. || || --- ||
** Education & Experience Preferences/Requirements** || Degree
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)
Experience Preferred: 5+ years progressive accounting experience |
