Base pay range: $68,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Position

Summary

The Equipment & Inventory Manager oversees the full lifecycle of tools, equipment, and inventory supporting operations. This position develops and enforces equipment and tooling policies, ensures accurate tracking and documentation, and maintains compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and customer-specific standards. The role manages tool crib operations, coordinates inspections, testing, and calibration, and supports procurement activities for tools, parts, and fleet-related supplies. The Equipment & Inventory Manager is also responsible for budgeting, vendor management, and cost-control strategies that promote efficiency and operational readiness.

This role also provides leadership and direction to tooling and shop staff, ensuring proper training in equipment use, care, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tooling Strategy & Management: develop and implement tooling policies, procedures, and standards for electric utility operations; maintain accurate records of all tools, calibration schedules, and certifications; forecast tooling needs based on project pipeline and operational requirements.
  • Inventory Control & Logistics: oversee tool crib operations, including issuance, returns, and tracking; implement systems for tool tracking (RFID/barcode) to minimize loss and downtime; manage vendor relationships for tooling procurement and repairs; assist with procurement of parts and supplies for the fleet team.
  • Safety & Compliance: ensure all tools are routinely tested and meet OSHA, ANSI, and utility-specific safety standards; perform/coordinate regular inspections, testing, and calibration of specialized equipment; maintain compliance documentation for audits and client requirements; prepare and manage tooling budget, including capital expenditures and maintenance costs; identify opportunities for cost savings through standardization and preventive maintenance; supervise tooling technicians and warehouse staff;

    provide training on proper tool use, care, testing and safety protocols.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.

  • Live within one hour of the Sissonville GMB yard.
Schedule
  • Varies due to nature of industry (Mon‑Fri).
  • Occasional weekend hours required.
