Position: Multimedia Journalist (MMJ)

What You’ll Do at Eyewitness News
  • Report, shoot, and edit compelling news stories daily
  • Enterprise original story ideas that fit our mission of accountability, impact, and community connection
  • Build and maintain a strong source network across the Appalachian region
  • Produce content for broadcast, digital, and social platforms—with an emphasis on multi‑platform storytelling
  • Execute live shots with confidence in fast‑moving breaking news and high‑visibility coverage
  • Pitch and develop character‑driven and solutions‑focused stories that resonate with viewers
  • Collaborate closely with producers, photographers, and digital staff
  • Contribute to station franchises and special event coverage
  • Uphold the highest standards of accuracy, ethics, and community‑focused journalism

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated sharp news judgment
  • Strong shooting, writing, and non‑linear editing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
  • Comfort with digital‑first reporting and engaging on social platforms
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and deliver quality content
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of reporting experience or equivalent college experience
  • Experience performing live shots is required
  • Experience with LiveU or similar field transmission equipment is a plus
  • A link to your demo reel must be included when applying
