Opportunity

TC Energy’s Measurement Services US department is seeking to add a Gas Quality Analyst based in Charleston, WV to support our partners, including Field Operations and Commercial organizations.

As a Gas Quality Analyst, you will apply your knowledge and experience within a collaborative team environment to identify, assess and manage gas quality related risks on our pipeline system. These risks can impact the marketability of the gas, the safety of the community, and the operation of our facilities. This role is technical in nature and demands excellent communication skills to liaise between customers and internal stakeholders throughout TC Energy.

What

You'll Do
  • Participate in the design and development of processes, tools, programs, and business initiatives related to gas quality management, service offerings and management of potential risks to TC Energy facilities.

  • Monitor and assess the impact of non-conventional gas (Biogas/RNG, Hydrogen, Coal Bed Methane, Liquefied Natural Gas, Shale Gas) on our system.

  • Provide project support and participate in the evaluation new technology to further enhance TC Energy’s ability to manage the Gas Quality tariff.

  • Provide support to stakeholders on areas of expertise such as phase behavior, objectionable material, tariff enforcement, etc.

  • Identify various levels of gas quality risk, develop and partner with engineering to appropriately address asset risk(s).

  • Provide support to field operations and communicate with external stakeholders to resolve operational issues associated with off-spec gas.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or Chemistry.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience related to Analytical Equipment, Natural Gas Measurement, Gas Quality, Field Operations, Project Management, Nominations and/or Gas Control.

  • Demonstrated analytical, risk management and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Consideration will be given to individuals with other combinations of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Natural Gas Pipeline Experience

  • Exposure to tariff management and natural gas scientific principles (i.e. fluid dynamics, gas chemistry and behaviors)

  • Knowledge of the design & operation of upstream facilities and downstream consumers.

  • Some experience or knowledge of SCADA systems and flows

  • Knowledge of NAESB, FERC, PHMSA, and EPA

  • Experience in developing Power

    BI dashboards and reports.

This Position Requires Candidates To
  • Maintain a valid driver's license for o ccasionally travel to other company locations (10%).

  • Provide after hours and weekend support to emergency responses.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment screening

  • Travel to other company locations for meetings or training will be required (estimated up 2-3 trips a year)
