PurposeAs a Senior Piping Designer at Worley, you will lead and support the delivery of piping design and drafting services across complex projects. You ll bring advanced technical expertise, oversee design quality, and provide mentorship while ensuring projects meet client requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of assigned projects, including full understanding of scope, piping schedules, and deliverables.
- Participate in interactive planning meetings to support schedule development and establish project milestones.
- Develop staffing plans to satisfy project budget and schedule requirements.
- Review and follow client procedures, project specifications, and standards.
- Establish and manage design areas within assigned units or facility areas.
- Prepare and maintain "Needs Lists" to ensure timely flow of project information.
- Monitor the Master P& of Change (MOC) log and identify scope changes.
- Use 3D modeling and review software (PDMS/E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress.
- Review deliverables prior to IFC (Issued for Construction) release to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate piping design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
- Set up and enforce the Deliverable Verification Plan.
- Participate in formal design reviews for assigned projects.
- Perform field walkdowns of existing facilities to verify P&IDs, measure elevations, identify tie-points, and plan piping routes through existing structures.
- Transfer field data into PDMS/E3D models and update designs accordingly.
- Work with laser scanning data to identify tie-points and route piping within existing facilities.
- Lead piping design on brownfield projects with significant obstructions and design constraints.
- Strong expertise with PDMS/E3D modeling and drafting, including field data integration.
- Proven ability to prepare and review piping deliverables, including isometrics and layouts.
- Experience leading piping design within brownfield/operating facilities with complex constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage scope changes via P& processes.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices in piping design.
- Effective coordination and integration skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- 10+ years of piping design experience, including at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead designer role.
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Familiarity with Navisworks, SharePoint, and laser scanning applications (preferred).
