About the JobJoin Highland Hospital as the Facility CFO for Behavioral Health. This role is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overall financial operations, daily fiscal management, and contributing to strategic planning.
Roles and Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, identify and correct variances.
- Prepare corporate required reports (Monthly Operating Report, Monthly Certifications, Corporate Disclosures, Forecasts).
- Maintain accounting and business office policies, internal controls, and approval processes to support a clean audit without material adjustments.
- Direct Revenue Cycle operations to achieve timely accounts receivable collections, minimize uncompensated care, and reduce bad debt and denials.
- Oversee Front End Revenue Cycle processes, ensuring insurance verification completion, accurate determination of patient portions, and proper logging of upfront collections.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies; prepare cost reports as needed.
- Supervise Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Materials Management, and other departments assigned by the CEO.
- Lead a high‑engagement team through hiring, orientation, performance assessment, coaching, and scheduling to meet department goals.
- Ensure compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and monitor purchases to keep supply costs within budgeted levels.
- Prepare annual operating budget, analyze variances, and assist the CEO in implementing changes to achieve budget goals.
- Prepare annual capital budgets and Capital Equipment Requests; record accurate assets and depreciation.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to facility managers; train managers on financial matters and provide routine feedback.
- Provide financial expertise in planning new services, including preparation of pro‑formas.
- Work as a partner with the CEO to maintain open communication and positive interaction, ensuring facility staffing meets productivity goals.
- Participate in managed care contracting and other business development activities to maximize net revenue.
- Approve or deny all computer access privileges and terminate access for terminated employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business‑related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of five years of financial management experience (CFO, ACFO, Director of Finance, Controller) in a healthcare setting.
- Previous behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
- Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system highly preferred.
- Proven financial analysis skills and strong technical accounting and finance skills.
- Experience working with information technology and proficiency with Excel and Word.
CPA preferred.
Supervisory RequirementsFive or more years of supervisory/management experience in a healthcare setting required.
